General

BioMeds is a personalized telehealth platform designed to help you achieve your wellness goals on your terms. We specialize in offering effective, science-backed solutions, including prescription medications like GLP-1s, to support your health journey. Our service provides a simple, end-to-end experience, from online screening and telehealth evaluations with licensed doctors to medication fulfillment through accredited pharmacies. With ongoing support and personalized wellness resources, BioMeds makes it easy and convenient to take control of your health—all for one affordable monthly price.

BioMeds is open to everyone regardless of gender. To use Alan Meds, you must be:
• 18 years of age or older.
• Qualified for weight management treatment based on the professional assessment of our doctors.
• Be located in one of the states we service.
Alan works in 3 simple steps:

1. Complete our online application to help us learn about you and your goals. If you qualify, you’ll be able to sign up for our program.
2. Complete a detailed medical intake for review by a board-certified doctor through our platform who will recommend a personalized care plan based on your goals.
3. If medically appropriate, receive your medication in the mail (depending on your provider’s decision). You’ll also be able to fulfill a prescription outside of BioMeds while continuing to use our service to track progress with your provider each month.

No, BioMeds supplements your primary healthcare and does not replace it. We recommend keeping your primary care provider (PCP) and other medical professionals informed about your weight management program for a holistic health approach.

Weight loss varies based on a number of factors related to your health. Your doctor will work with you to track progress each month.

Prices vary depending on the specific program and treatment options that best suit your needs. You’ll see all costs displayed clearly up-front before submitting payment, and there are no hidden charges. We’ve worked to keep our programs as affordable and accessible as possible.

Telemedicine

We understand that navigating payment options can be a hassle. At BioMeds, while we don’t accept insurance, HSAs, HRAs, or FSAs, we’ve worked hard to make our program affordable. We’re committed to providing you with quality care that’s both effective and economical.

All doctors on the BioMeds platform are board certified and have deep experience in their treatment verticals, including weight management. We strive to connect people with doctors ASAP and therefore cannot say who exactly your doctor will be until you sign up. After that, you’ll get introduced to your doctor including a full bio.

Your prescription will be filled at a pharmacy BioMeds works with directly or you can take your prescription to a licensed pharmacy of your choosing. Please note, if you use a pharmacy outside of the list that BioMeds offers, you will have to pay the price charged by the pharmacy you choose.

Payment is collected upfront to secure your appointment with a provider who can prescribe medication, as medically appropriate. We offer a 100% money-back guarantee for our clients who are not good candidates for their selected treatment program.

Medication

Compounding is the process of creating a medication that’s tailored to the needs of an individual patient. For example, some patients may need a medication in liquid form when the FDA-approved drug comes in a tablet. Additionally, a pharmacy can compound medications of FDA-approved drugs that are listed on the FDA’s shortage list.

Compounded drugs are prepared by state-licensed compounding pharmacies that meet federal and state requirements, including quality standards. When compounding in compliance with federal and state law, compounded drugs are not subject to FDA approval and are not evaluated for safety or efficacy. See here for a detailed compounded semaglutide guide.

Compounded medications through BioMeds partner pharmacies undergo rigorous manufacturing processes and quality assurance measures. Each batch of products undergoes testing for sterility and potency. Our pharmacy partners also conduct quality audits on FDA registered API vendors to ensure the quality of the ingredients.

GLP-1 medication can take several weeks to be effective. Each batch of medication is tested by our pharmacy partners to ensure it meets criteria and is dosed accurately. In terms of dosing, we follow the same dosing titration schedule as name brand medications (like Ozempic® & Wegovy®). If you have specific questions about your dosage or dosage amount, we encourage you to reach out directly via the BioMeds portal!

Compounded medications are not the same as a generic version. Generic versions of medications generally require the manufacturer to apply for FDA-approval by establishing that the generic is bio-equivalent to the brand name drug. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are compounded only pursuant to a specific prescription or if a drug is listed on the FDA’s shortage list by a compounding pharmacy with the right facility and environment to comply with applicable state and federal rules required prior to dispensing a compounded medication.
